The church and civil wedding ceremony

Whether baroque or modern, both are possible at Seggau Castle.
The baroque castle chapel in the upper castle, a chapel of St. Mary, offers space for approx. 50 – 60 people. Immerse yourself in the Baroque era with its vaults and frescoes. A unique flair for a special naming ceremony.
The modern St. Michael´s Chapel is located halfway into the Upper Castle and offers seating for approx. 60 – 70 people. This beautiful room captivates with its play of light which is created by the colours of the large painted windows.

The festive table for your celebration
Whether classic in the ballroom, elegant in the upper castle or rustic in the vaulted cellar – we have the right rooms for your banquet!
You can choose between three rooms for your festive celebration after saying ‘I do’.
If you prefer a classic style and have a wedding group of 80 – 140 people, then our large banqueting hall is the perfect venue. Whether in a U-shape or with round tables, with the right decorations this room becomes a romantic, classic location.
The three banqueting rooms in the historic upper castle convey pure romance. The old, original wooden floors, the light-flooded rooms and the wonderful view over Leibnitz give these rooms that extra touch of exclusivity. Seating is available in various table shapes with round tables for 40 to 80 people.
The cellar vault in the historic upper castle is a unique and special highlight for any wedding. It is located on the ground floor of the arcades and has a warm and cosy atmosphere thanks to the original brick vaults, the striking wooden floor and the indirect lighting.
Between 40 and 60 guests can celebrate in this outstanding location. The band and / or the bar invite you to a cosy get-together or party in a second small vaulted room. These rooms will give your wedding that extra touch of exclusivity.

We cordially invite you to take a tour of the beautiful castle grounds and the possible function rooms. During this tour, you will find the perfect location for your dream wedding. We will then be happy to advise you on our various catering partners, who will work with you to plan the perfect festive menu, suitable decorations and festive table arrangements.
After our discussion, we will clarify which caterer is available on your desired date and establish contact for the individual detailed planning.
We will also be happy to advise you on our own wines from the Episcopal Wine Cellar so that you can find the right wine for your celebration during a tasting.
