In the Genuss Shop & Vinothek everyone is talking about the green heart – here you will find wines and culinary delights from southern Styria.
The Grottenhof visitor center invites you to enjoy nature, to go for a walk, to relax and to try wines from the region in the gourmet shop and vinotheque with the world’s first wine dispensing system, the “Weinverkostungsautomat”.
You can find out a lot of interesting facts about the region in the exhibitions „Zeitreise Naturpark Südsteiermark – Vielfalt einer ursteirischen Landschaft“ and „Honig – das goldene Wunder der Natur“.
Hotel guests of Schloss Seggau receive a 30% discount on admission to both exhibitions. Information on this at the hotel reception.
WINE TAVERN VISIT
Southern Styria and wine belong together like the sun and the moon. Wine has been produced here continuously for more than 1000 years – and for over 30 years at an international level. The Mediterranean climate in southern Styria means that spring starts earlier here than elsewhere, and the warm autumn days bring out the best in the grapes.
See for yourself and visit the numerous wineries and the excellent Buschenschänken (wine taverns). We recommend our Sulmtaler & Sausaler guest taxi so you can drink one or two extra glasses without thinking twice.
HARTLIEB Pumpkin seed OIL MILL
Learn everything you ever wanted to know about pumpkin seed oil. Immerse yourself in this traditional craft of oil production and learn about the process from pumpkin to finished oil. Guided tour through the museum and tasting of 19 different oils and specialities from pumpkin seeds by appointment.
